The importance of supporting worthy social causes has been a theme of dinner table conversations for centuries, and is well captured by the brooding revolutionary Scythrop in Nightmare Abbey. “Ardent spirits cannot but be dissatisfied with things as they are . . . they will rush to the extremes of either hope or despair”. And yet how rarely Scythrop leaves his tower.

Legislation and Undocumented Immigrants

In my previous blog post, I tried to open the awareness about paperless immigrants. In this post, I will try to represent some of the national and international regulations about immigration and in next discussions I will refer to NGO’s and activists’ actions to support refugees and paperless immigrants.

If thou feel not for other’s misery A human being is no name for thee

A short introduction may help readers of my blogging here to get familiar with concept of paperless and refugee. An asylum seeker is a person who flees from his or her country in order to seek international protection and the right to stay in another country. An asylum seeker is a person who is looking for a safe place to live and who can obtain the right of residence abroad. If the person is granted asylum, he or she will be granted refugee status and a residence permit. Asylum seekers usually seek to protect humanitarian protection law. Undocumented People are a particularly vulnerable group. They are not part of the system in the country they are living at, don’t enjoy the same rights as the common citizen, and are at the mercy of being exploited in a number of ways. Also, the risk of deportation or being detained by the authorities, creates fear, preventing this group from seeking help.

What if you would become undocumented?

What if your life in your dear homeland would become utterly difficult. You would constantly struggle to survive from day to day life. What if you would feel like you are suffering and living in fear in your homeland. What if your life would seem doomed if you stayed in your homeland and imagined the next years there amidst all hardships and low quality of life. What if your only hope would seem to be elsewhere, abroad, in a paradise continent called Europe.
