Fall has come to an end and so has our group’s blog!
This course has opened our eyes into critical thinking and how we can as future social workers exert influence in this society. -Johanna
During this autumn, we as a group have been able to do project and case work’s around our topics: Disabilities and mental health issues. In our blog posts, we have dealt with even difficult issues and had mostly good comments and views from our classmates. Thank you all for your comment and thank you also for your interesting blogs!
Blogging was completely new experience for me, as I have never wrote a blog before, and being honest, I never quite understand people who read them. I tried few times, when I saw a list of “5 best blogs” in some magazine for women. But I only found them really boring and superficial. -Maiju
I have been a big consumer of blogs and I have also written in the past few blogs on my own. -Elisa
For some of us, blogging was completely a new thing and for all of us, the Laurea platform Showlink was unfamiliar beforehand.
It is a totally different story to write a nice and floating text about how to lose weight, like about severe disabilities or deep depression. – Elisa
At least our topics were quite interesting, but I found this task a bit frustrating, as I wrote 3 blogs and got only one comment. (Well, this was partly my own fault as the platform was confusing me and I had made some mistakes with choosing the categories). – Maiju
Overall, this course and its tasks have taught us a lot about Social Welfare legislation and how to exert influence as a social services student and also in our future profession. Once more, thank you to all of our classmates and also to our great teachers!
