We are an international group of students at Laurea University of Applied Sciences. As for the project we have been working on, our goal has been to build a webpage for a camping site called Kaitaniemi using Elementor which is WordPress plug-in. The project began in January 2022, in the beginning we were communicating through online channels. However, we were able to meet as soon as to was possible.
Kaitaniemi is camp centre owned by Hyvinkää’s Pentecostal church. Camp centre is in Hyvinkää about 15 kilometres away from the town centre. Currently Kaitaniemi booking system is included in church website page.
The assignment for the project is creating a website independent from the church. In addition, the client would like to include an online booking calendar as they currently don’t have it. The process of creating website started with developing wireframes of main page. After couple versions of wireframes and client feedback we optimized to the version we are currently working with.
Part of our assignment is also designing a logo for Kaitaniemi. We used Canva website to develop the first logo designs. The name of the camp centre means “narrow path” or “path into the forest”. Client’s wish was incorporate the meaning of the name to the logo design.
Our approach to the logo design process focuses on creating a wide range of diverse styles to present to the client.
The first version of the logo took simpler and softer approach referring to the pictures above.
The other two were more focused of the meaning behind the Brand name. The client selected the first one as the model to follow but he also wanted to implement a path in it.
Through trial and error, we have manged to develop three logos, and with feedback from Kaitaniemi our team has been able to move forward with an agreed upon logo.
At this stage in the project’s development, it has been important to communicate with the client about their thoughts and ideas going forward.
