Our project with Vivaboost started in mid-January this year. Our excellent project team consists of six students from Laurea and also two exchange students.
The VIVA project is a project launched at Laurea University of Applied Sciences in August 2021. The project lasts two years and is funded by Helsinki Uusimaa Regional Federation and EU. This two-year project aims to develop virtual reality and augmented reality environments in a multi-professional way. The project is carried out in collaboration together with SMEs, experts in international trade and responsible business, and business students. It is great to be a part of developing this future looking project.
We have two goals in for this project, first one is to benchmark best practices globally and the second one is to build training environments in virtual reality using 3Dbear tools. Our team has no previous experience of virtual reality so there is a lot to learn. A good team spirit, nice clients and an interesting topic will help the team learn this new topic.
We have been able to take part in training on the topics, which has been very helpful. There are a huge number of different possibilities and features in virtual technology. We will certainly not do anything in this project other than surface scratching due to the scale of the topic, but there is still something to learn for the future.
We are currently in the theoretical phase of the project and after that we will be able to try out the virtual world ourselves. We are currently working remotely, but hopefully, if the situation allows, we will gradually be able to learn something new on campus.
Happy spring everyone! 🙂
