Kickoff day
Our project started on September 2nd at 3 p.m. At first, we Finns introduced ourselves and briefly went over what would happen in the project. About an hour later, our Chilean teammates joined us. On the first day, we got to know each other, and the teachers divided us into groups. We collected the necessary information and started preparing for the project by creating a WhatsApp group and a project plan in Excel. After that, the companies gave their own presentations, shared their thoughts, and of course greeted their assigned groups. The day was short but also concise and productive.
How is the project progressing?
The project is progressing well after some initial difficulties. Our team quickly got to work — we first created a project plan and then began researching the Brazilian market. Everyone handled their tasks well, and we were able to produce the first versions of the project plan and marketing research quickly. We presented the project plan to the client, who thought it sounded good and gave us permission to use their materials. Now we are finishing the marketing research and it’s time to start working on a new task.
Working in an International Project
This is new to me, but also interesting — to be part of an international project. We have a 6–7 hour time difference with Chile, but we have still managed to communicate well with them and arrange meetings at times that suit everyone. The beginning was a bit slow because they couldn’t always join Teams, but with good communication we have overcome this challenge as well. I’ve gained new perspectives from working with them and learned how easily they can come up with solutions to problems. I’ve also improved my English a bit, even though I don’t always remember all the words right away. Hopefully, we can finish this project with the same great energy and efficiency that we have had so far.
