We started our project in January 2023. Our client is Konecranes Finland oy. Konecranes is big company that provides lifting machine tools. Last year they had over 3,37 billion revenue. Konecranes operates in 50 different countries and employs 16500 people. In Finland Konecranes have over 200 international employees our goal is to find out what kind of problems they had when they came to Finland and then do a info package and info videos. This is a service design project, and we use and learn from service design methods.
Our project is international project. In our project team we have five Finns, one Espanian and two Ukrainians. Our team has two project managers, two communication officers, two well-being officers and two secretaries.
Project started off with a brief. After brief team started creating ideas what are the real needs of the foreign employees. First, we needed to know what were the biggest issues that international employees faced when they came to Finland. Team decided to get answers by survey. But before we could make survey, we needed to know what needs to be asked on the survey. So, we decided to do few in-depth interviews. We contacted Konecranes and asked if there would be international employees who could meet us on teams so we could ask questions from them. Konecranes gave us the list of employees that we should contact. and we sent emails to them and set up dates for the interviews. After in-depth interviews answers we started making survey. After a few test versions our survey is done, and we managed to send it forwards to over 150 employees, but we only got 34 answers.
For the rest of the project, we mainly focus on writing the theory base, analyzing the survey answers and making the final products. Currently we are in the process off coming up with ideas for the final products and after analyzing the answers to the survey, we can properly start making the final products. As the final product, we are going to make an information package and info videos where we tell about transportation, health care, taxation, creating DVV and banking and financial information. The idea of the information package and videos is to include information related to integration in Finland. In addition to this, we are going to make four videos that would support the topics of the information package.
