Our project day at Kauppakeskus Lohi on 13.3.2024 was an enlightening journey into the heart of responsible business practices. Part of our project team embarked on this excursion to delve into the daily operations of the center’s tenants and understand firsthand how responsibility shapes their endeavors.
We had hoped to chat with more tenants, but we managed to schedule interviews with four of them. It might not have been a big number, but the insights we gained were invaluable for our upcoming workshop.
Our exploration started at Toasti restaurant, where amidst the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and tempting pastries, we engaged in two insightful interviews. Here, we learned about their commitment to utilizing local ingredients and minimizing food wastage, setting a commendable standard for responsible business conduct.
Continuing our journey, we encountered two other tenants, each showcasing their unique approach to responsibility. From their emphasis on sustainable sourcing to their involvement in community-driven projects, we witnessed the diverse ways in which businesses can contribute positively to society.
In between interviews, we took breaks at the Laurea facilities, jotting down our thoughts and starting to piece together what we’d learned.
Looking back, our day at Kauppakeskus Lohi reminded us that being responsible in business isn’t just about big things—it’s also about lots of small actions that add up. We left feeling really impressed by how businesses there are trying to make a positive difference in their community. Kauppakeskus Lohi isn’t just a place to shop—it’s a symbol of businesses working together for good.
